Fezile Impela
A rare blend of talent, intellectualism, humility and humour
Fezile is a popular MC for prestigious events and conferences. His talent for languages and studies in business science and economics give him the edge over most show business personalities, whether as an MC or as a Conference facilitator and moderator. Getroud Met Braai was Fezile’s most recent role in an Afrikaans television show. That’s the thing about Fezile. His Afrikaans is as good as his English, his South Sotho, his Xhosa, his Zulu. That’s right, he is fluent in every South African language, and can also speak a smattering of German.
Fezile was the roar of Simba the lion in Walt Disney’s “The Lion King” but that’s just one of his claims to fame. Fezile is one of South Africa’s most industrious personalities, renowned as both a Screen and Stage Actor. A regular face on the Mzansi Channel, he has starred in more dramas and daily soaps than any other South African actor, including Andries Plak, Die Vierde Kabinet, Bloedbroers, High Rollers, Soul City, Erfsondes, Sleurstroom, Hidden City, Friends Indeed, Wild at Heart, Generations, Sewende laan, Song vir for Katryn, Molofish, Isidingo, Mzansi, Friends indeed, The Hidden City, Kelebone, Sleurstroom, Secret in my Bosom, and more. Film work includes the role of Bruno Mtolo in An Act of Defiance – the Bram Fischer story, Cyril Ramaphosa in the film Winnie, Magistrate Mosepe in Dis Ek Anna, Rev Molope in A Million Colours, and Todd Matshikiza in Drum. He was the South African presenter of the BBBC show “Ready Steady Cook” which received rave reviews. Previous presenting jobs include the popular home ownership show “On Site” on TV2, the MNet Book Awards, the “Rock Down Africa music show,” The All Africa Film Awards, the SAMAS, the game show Where were you, and the Loerie Awards. His love of the stage has him returning at least once a year to perform in live theatre. He starred as Lord MacBeki in the Pieter Dirk Uys farce MacBeki. 2008. One of the most in demand voice over artists, Fezile is the voice behind the South African series of “Who do you think you are?”, which has also been broadcast on BBC. He was contracted as the exclusive voice of Standard Bank for a year. He was also the voice of 58 Master Chef SA episodes. He was Conference MC for the Africa Green Revolution Forum 2010. Chaired by Mr. Annan, Chairman of the AGRA Board, and hosted by H.E. John Atta Mills, President of Ghana, the Forum brings together African heads of state, ministers, farmers, private agribusiness firms, financial institutions, NGOs, civil society and scientists, to discuss and develop concrete investment plans for achieving a green revolution in Africa. Other prestigious gigs include the inaugural Old Mutual Soul Sessions road show 2008, the Microsoft Chairman awards, Department of Communications Awards, SA Music Awards, Africa Music Awards and the Liberty Life Challenge.
