Nikiwe holds an MSc in African Studies from the University of Oxford and an MA in Journalism and Media studies from the University of the Witwatersrand (with distinction). In 2012, Nikiwe was awarded the Fulbright Hubert Humphrey fellowship to the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism in the U.S.A. She currently serves as the youngest trustee of the board of the Nelson Mandela Foundation. Nikiwe is passionate about Africa’s economic development and her professional interests can be described as an intersection of media, policy, business and the political economy of the region.
