Africa is Open for Business contains a dynamic and different view of the opportunities available in Africa from those usually portrayed in the news and in other media. Kgomoeswana focuses on the stories behind the headlines as well as sharing his personal experiences of Africa while travelling and doing business in a way that is as entertaining as it is informative. His book shares 50 stories of innovation and opportunity behind the business headlines of the last ten years on the African continent. From the introduction of M-pesa in Kenya to changing the image of Nigeria as Africa’s fraud capital, and from Rwandan coffee farmers to Ethiopian Airlines, and other remarkable stories Kgomoeswana has facilitated various conferences and events including the annual Black Management Forum, the Annual Audit Committee Conference by Nkonki Inc, the National Treasury’s Financial Management Improvement III workshop for municipalities in the North West, as well as the congratulatory dinners held by the Association of Black Investment & Securities Professionals for Jacko Maree and one by the African Women Chartered Accountants for the CEO of the National Empowerment Fund.

Kgomoeswana organised and led a trade conference on regional economic integration in East Africa with the Rwanda Development Board and the South African High Commission in Kigali. Until September 2013, he was Business Development Executive for PPC Ltd, a cement manufacturing company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. His role was to seek for investment opportunities across the African continent. In addition, Kgomoeswana originated mergers and acquisitions transactions through discussions with governments, investors, company owners to establish good relations. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of PPC Ntsika Fund (Pty) Ltd until January 2014, the enterprise development initiative of PPC Ltd, set up to support black small and medium enterprises with finance, mentoring, coaching and other forms of support.

Before PPC, he was Associate Director at Ernst & Young’s Africa Business Centre. He led the team that put together the database behind the firm’s Africa Interactive and Growing Beyond Borders – both tools are industry firsts among the big four firms globally. Since the launch of the Africa Business Centre in April 2010, his role evolved to business development, supporting pursuit teams across Ernst & Young in Africa and globally, presenting to clients on business opportunities in Africa, finding investment opportunities and matching them to our clients and potential clients, representing the firm at key conferences, such as the World Economic Forum (Africa), Mining Indaba, the Africa Tax Conference, Africa Mobility Conference, the Africa Investment Conference (UK), as well as assisting clients to find investment opportunities – mainly multinational corporations based in South Africa, India, Europe, US and China.

He founded and presented the weekly Africa Business Report on Talk Radio 702’s Money Show in July 2007 and on SAFM since October 2012; and has featured regularly on many other radio and TV stations locally and internationally, for example, CNN, CNBC Africa, SABC TV, eTV, East Coast Radio and Lesedi FM. BOOK NOW!
