SILVER


Silver is a singer/songwriter who began performing aged 5 and composing aged 12.She studied music at 'Allenby Campus' in Johannesburg in 2000/2001 where she was lead vocalist/bassist for the original rock band 'Sticky Zipper' comprised of fellow students.

In 2002 she was hired by Richard Loring to appear as bassist in his production 'Girl Talk Nite Out'. Silver also featured alongside Jolene Martin Morgan on Twistyle's  release 'Lovey Dovey'.2003 saw Silver offered a second role by Richard Loring as bassist/vocalist in 'The Young Ones'. Her performances resulted in rave reviews and a 'Naledi Theatre Award' nomination for 'Best Performance in a Musical' (by a female).

The following year Silver joined the all-girl corporate band 'SHE' as lead vocalist/bassist.In 2005 Silver featured alongside Matthew Stewardson as Marilyn Monroe in a short run of the production 'Frank and Marilyn'. Later that year she would once again appear for Richard Loring taking over as bassist in 'Girl Talk 005'. This particular show ended with a run in Cape Town at the 'Artscape Theatre'.Alongside being a performer Silver also finds the time to work as a vocal/performance coach and taught at 'The National School of the Arts' during 2004/2005.

In 2006 Silver moved to the UK and while there fulfilled a lifelong ambition of recording an original album.Silver returned to Johannesburg in the early part of 2010 and has since been freelancing. Some of the bands and artists she has been working with include Melanie Lowe, Capricorn and 'SHE'  who Silver performed with during the World Cup 2010  at The International Football Village. Silver currently collaborates with a variety of Johannesburg's top musicans in order to provide clients with first-class entertainment. Silver's repertoire ranges from jazz right through to modern dance hits.
